Interaction with CII, Cidex Trade Fairs, German Welding Society, Singapore Welding Society, Welding Technology Institute of Australia, ASEAN, etc.
Entered into an MOU with Singapore Welding Society.
Continuously Exploring the possibilities for joining hands with other international welding associations.

Asian Welding Federation

AWF was formed at Osaka, Japan on 16th July 2004
IWS is one of the Founder Members of AWF.
Shri M L Gehani, then President attended the first meeting.
Aim of AWF is the betterment of welding communities in Asia in terms of economic & technological growth.
IWS hosted the 5th AWF meet at Lonavla, Mumbai during Sep 2005.

A non profit making organisation with the following objectives:

Standardisation of Welding skill & Qualification.
Develop a formal structure to promote and guide towards a common welding standard for Asia.
Defining common guidelines for education, training, qualification & certification of personnel in welding & related technologies.
Serving as a common & united front in international welding affairs and standardisation in welding practices.
Upgrading technology in developing countries to have better living standard.
