About IWS
The Indian Welding Society - IWS was formed by welding professionals from the leading Fabrication Industries, Welding Equipment & Consumable Manufacturers, Educational & Research Institutes etc. mainly with the idea of providing a forum for propagating the developments in welding technology.
- The leading professional body dedicated to the cause of welding in India.
- Governed by a National Governing Council comprising of senior executives of Welding & Fabrication Industries, Welding equipment & Consumable Industries, Research & Educational Institutes, Govt. Departments and many other welding professionals & consultants.
- The Indian Welding Society was registered under the Society's act with Head Quarters at New Delhi on 14th March 2002. (Regn no. 41817/ 2002)
- Has a federal set up with five zones viz. North, South, East, West and Central and centres at various places under respective zones.
- Has Centres at Angul, Annamalai Nagar, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Longowal, Pune, Mysore, Kochi, Ranipet, Vizag and Indore.
- Office bearers of the society are elected through postal ballot system.
Major Objectives
- To promote the advancement of Welding, Cutting, Reclamation, Hard Facing and related Technologies and other allied sciences.
- To facilitate exchange of ideas, information, development work etc. amongst members; by organising lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, conferences and Development Programmes; publish periodicals, books, journals, and magazines; and develop software and educational programmes, video films and training packages relating to the objectives of the Society.
- To offer flexible class room / distance learning programmes in various aspects of Welding & related Technology that suit the requirement of various levels.
- To promote professional exchange of information, experience and advanced training within and among various countries across the globe.
- To give awards, scholarships, fellowships, and grants to individuals / teams of professionals and organisations in regard to specific projects in various spheres of welding & related technology directly or in association with other professional organisations having similar objectives.
